Certificate of Graduate Study in Healthcare Management & Policy

A collaboration with UVM’s Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine, this 18-credit graduate program provides a solid foundation in health policy and management while allowing for content and scheduling flexibility to help prepare students in their areas of specific career interest. Our expert faculty are adept at navigating today’s changing and challenging healthcare landscape, including areas of law, medicine, public health, economics, health insurance, leadership, and management.

Curriculum

The Certificate of Graduate Study in Healthcare Management and Policy is an 18-credit, online program that requires three core courses and three electives. This assures a solid foundation while allowing students some flexibility to pursue their own areas of interest.

Three required courses

  • PH 6170 Management in Health Services and Medical Care or PH 6050 Policy, Organization, and Finance in Healthcare
  • PH 6240 Public Health Informatics
  • PH 6260 Legal Issues in Healthcare

Students choose three courses from topical electives

Courses are taught by faculty experts from UVM’s Larner College of Medicine, the Vermont Department of Health, and experts trained at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
