Dear Students,
We have watched our vibrant campus come to life over the last several weeks and wanted to welcome you all on this first day of classes.
We are delighted that for the first time since early 2020, UVM is free from mandatory procedures for masking and distancing. While the current public health conditions are good news, we urge you to be mindful of your health and considerate of those who may wish to mask or keep physically distant in certain situations.
The potential of our newest students is greater than ever. The Class of 2026 continues the trend of record-breaking academic achievement in our incoming classes. We hope our upper class students will reach out to our newest students with words of welcome and encouragement.
Our talented new undergraduate, graduate, and medical students come from every corner of the globe. We look forward to getting to know you, and are eager for you to share your cultures and experiences with us.
Your success is the reason we are here. Please ask for help if you need it, and seek out opportunities to enhance your experience in the classroom with internships, student organizations, study abroad, research, creative arts, and more. Challenge yourselves to be innovative thinkers and doers, capitalize on the entrepreneurial spirit of our community, and fully engage in campus life as future global citizens.
If you are new to UVM, we know it will not take long for you to see that UVM is like no other university. Burlington is like no other city. And, Vermont is like no other state. We are thrilled that you are here.
Welcome and have a great academic year!
