Dear faculty and staff colleagues,

As I promised during my visits this year to college, school, and division meetings, I plan to establish a regular and predictable cadence of campus communication, so we can work together more effectively and hear directly from one another. This is especially important in the challenging times in which we do our work.

I am writing to invite you to a Virtual Campus Leadership Update on Wednesday, April 29, from noon–1 p.m. This meeting, which we will conduct via Microsoft Teams Town Hall, will provide our faculty and staff colleagues with updates from university leaders as the semester draws to a close, and we look ahead.

To help ensure that we are sharing information that is most important to you and your work, we invite you to submit questions in advance through a brief survey linked here. Your input will help guide the conversation and ensure we address topics of greatest interest to our campus community.

Please also mark your calendars for our first State of the University address, which will take place on Tuesday, August 25. This annual event is an important moment to share progress on our strategic plan and to help us prepare for the year ahead.

A reminder with the Teams Town Hall link for the April 29 Virtual Campus Leadership Update will be sent next week.

Thank you for all you do for this great university. I hope you will gather in community with one another as we set our course to educate and support our students; explore and innovate in our pathbreaking research; serve the state of Vermont; and strive each day for a better world.

Sincerely,

Dr. Marlene Tromp
President
