In remembrance of former UVM president Lattie Coor

Dear UVM community,

I am writing to share that longtime former UVM president Lattie Coor passed away Thursday at the age of 89. I had the privilege of knowing Lattie when I was a dean at Arizona State University, and he left a lasting impression on me—not only as an incredible leader, but as an amazing human being. It is a privilege to follow in his footsteps as president of UVM, and his legacy remains an indelible part of this university’s history.

My condolences go out to the Coor family and to all who knew Lattie. He will always be remembered as the rare type of leader who was not only respected and admired, but loved as well.
