Dear Class of 2020,
We hope you have enjoyed a productive and meaningful time since your graduation in spite of the pandemic. None of us could have been truly prepared for more than a year of restrictions and related challenges.
This week, we announced modified Commencement plans for the Class of 2021. We had hoped to provide you with an in-person commencement experience this May, but we never expected that the pandemic would last as long as it has. Unfortunately, the health and safety restrictions imposed by the state of Vermont will preclude a spring 2021 in-person ceremony for the Class of 2020.
We are delighted, however, to say we are working with the Alumni Association to have a special celebration for you when we can plan a gathering within university and state guidelines. We also are pleased to announce that the Class of 2020 will have an opportunity to receive a UVM alumni sweatshirt compliments of the UVM Alumni Association. Please watch for an email from them in the coming weeks to get your sweatshirt and provide input on the celebration we’re planning.
