Dear UVM community,
It is with great joy that I announce the recipients of the 2025 President’s Our Common Ground Staff Award. This award honors staff members who embody the spirit of Our Common Ground values of respect, integrity, innovation, openness, justice, and responsibility—the shared aspirations that guide our university community.
This year’s honorees, representing the very best of UVM’s commitment to excellence and care, are:
- Genevieve Anthony, Assistant Dean for Business Operations, Honors College
- Tim Bilodeau, Chief of Police, UVM Police Services
- Lori Durieux, Business Manager, Family Medicine
- Sharon Mone, Director, Office of Accessibility Services
- Gail Shampnois, Director, Office of Student and Community Relations
- Barbara Stewart, Administrative Coordinator, College of Arts and Sciences
Please join me in celebrating these remarkable individuals for their outstanding contributions in making our community a strong, more compassionate, and connected place.
As we honor these awardees, I also want to recognize all our staff whose dedication, creativity, and care make UVM what it is today. I am deeply grateful for all that you do. I am excited for the upcoming Staff Appreciation Week, from October 1–9. This week is designed to celebrate all our staff, with opportunities to connect, recharge, and feel appreciated. The week will culminate with the beloved Social on the Green—a tradition I am especially looking forward to experiencing.
I hope you’ll take part in the festivities and feel the deep appreciation we hold for you—not just this week, but every day. Congratulations again to our awardees and thank you to all staff for the many ways you bring our shared values to life.
Sincerely,
Marlene Tromp
President
