Becoming a UVM Catamount Community Service Officer (CCSO)

The Catamount Community Service Officer (CCSO) is an unarmed civilian role within UVM Police Services. CCSOs perform non-law enforcement duties that are vital to campus safety and help build strong relationships with students, staff, and community partners.

Qualifications

Body
  • High school graduate/high school equivalency diploma (G.E.D.)
  • One to two years related experience
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain, and driver’s check required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, use basic hand tools
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, use basic writing skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and service orientation with educational focus
