Throughout the past 3 years, ARC has turned research to venture.

The following describes the technology’s inception into ARC and how it progressed to where it is today.

2022-2023

Burlington Bio

Burlington Bio is a high-growth, high impact biotechnology startup on a mission to apply materials engineering and systems thinking to alleviate food insecurity and support systems of regenerative agriculture. They do this by developing novel biomaterials and efficient scaffolds for cultivated meat producers. The company was co-founded by Dr. Rachael Floreani, associate professor of materials science, engineering, and food systems at UVM. ARC played an integral role over the past year developing and communicating the narrative of the company while driving forward important business development, product development, marketing, and operations initiatives. Some members of our ARC team will continue their impactful work with Burlington Bio to bring it to new heights this year!

Recover.AI

Throughout the cycle, the Recover.AI team worked diligently to find the entry market for their device. They researched markets and interviewed people in athletic training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, military, and bundle payments. They graduated from the M2D2 Impact accelerator program and a regional I-Corp Program. After a year of hard work, the team decided the best way for the IP to be brought to market was to partner with a company who had patents on a textile device already classified as a medical device. This led to a licensing agreement with the company to allow for the envisioned Recover.AI device to enter the market in Q1 2024.
