Information for Counselors
Greetings from the Office of Admissions at the University of Vermont
We look forward to working with you in this upcoming admissions cycle. We’re excited to get to know many of your students either during fall visits or by reviewing their applications, some of which have already been submitted. In sending in supporting documents, please remember that transcripts must be either sent electronically, or mailed directly to us, and test scores must come directly from either the College Board or ACT.
We hope to see many of you as we embark on our fall travel this year; for those of you we won’t have the opportunity to meet in person this fall, please don’t hesitate to contact the representative for your area with any questions.

Vermont Counselor Programs:
Registration for our annual Vermont Counselor Breakfasts and Lunches can be found here (please note separate registrations for each location and for the Counselor Update Day). These are scheduled around the state for late September/early October and are an opportunity for us to share the latest UVM Admissions news.
Counselor Fly-In Programs:
The admission offices at Champlain College, Saint Michael’s College, and the University of Vermont invite you to our January 2019 Counselor Visit in Vermont Program. This unique event allows counselors from key schools and organizations to experience all three of our schools during one streamlined visit. The event will run from January 22 – 26, 2019. We invite counselors to arrive on Tuesday, January 22 in time for our evening welcome reception and then spend Wednesday through Friday visiting the different colleges and depart on Saturday, January 26.
This program is close to capacity, however we do keep a wait list. You can join our wait list by filling out this form.
Important news:
We are now offering optional essay questions for students to further express their interest during the application process. The questions are unique and meant to encourage creative thinking. Questions can be found here, just select 'Optional Essay Questions'.
UVM partnered with Raise.Me to offer students micro-scholarships that recognize everyday academic achievements and allow them to start earning money for college beginning in the ninth grade.
