Human Resources and Enterprise Technology Services are aware that many faculty and staff have recently received an email message from “Baystate Financial Services” announcing a webinar “exclusively to employees of the University of Vermont” about retirement planning. Please be aware, “Baystate Financial Services” has no affiliation with the University of Vermont nor have we coordinated any retirement planning services or shared email addresses with Baystate. The university’s exclusive retirement plan partners are TIAA and Fidelity.
Digital solicitation, or spam email, like the one sent by Baystate, often look legitimate and are an unfortunate annoyance, however some spam emails are potentially dangerous. Be aware of emails that are unsolicited, ask for your personal information, and encourage you to click on links within the email. Please report spam and/or phishing emails to abuse@uvm.edu. Details about spam, phishing, and how to report technology-related concerns can be found on this ETS webpage.
Finally, if you are interested in UVM’s authorized retirement partners and retirement planning, visit our Benefits webpage for information about TIAA and Fidelity. Representatives from TIAA and Fidelity are available to discuss retirement goals and planning with faculty and staff members directly. Also, our benefits advisors in HR are offering an information session about retirement planning to all benefits-eligible employees who have not yet enrolled in a retirement plan on June 8, 2023 on MS Teams. Information about that session can be found on the Professional Development and Training website along with other courses exclusive to UVM.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Trenten Klingerman, Acting Chief Human Resources Officer, and
Simeon Ananou, Chief Information Officer
