Chair's Message

Welcome to the Department of Radiology

Our department has a long tradition in innovation and excellence. With integration of six hospitals and services across Vermont and New York, our focus on exceptional clinical service, education, and research allows us to carry forward our mission in providing the highest level of patient care.

Education is a core strength. Our diagnostic radiology residency program accepts six residents per year. Fellowships include neuroradiology (ACGME) as well as breast, abdominal, cardiothoracic, musculoskeletal, and community radiology. An Integrated Interventional Residency offers an opportunity to learn from exceptional teachers in both urban and rural settings. The enthusiasm for teaching and camaraderie among our faculty, residents and staff creates a positive learning environment. UVM LCOM medical students rotate through the department monthly. We offer a unique undergraduate course at UVM, “Introduction to Medical Imaging” in addition to UVM graduate anatomy courses.

Our commitment to research is equally robust. We are at the forefront of innovative population science research and clinical trials, particularly geared towards addressing the unique healthcare needs of rural communities. Our initiatives span both our region and the globe, aiming to improve access to quality radiological services and outcomes for underserved populations. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and collaborative partnerships, we strive to bridge the gap in healthcare disparities and bring advanced medical imaging solutions to rural areas. This global perspective enriches our research and ensures that our findings have a broad and meaningful impact.

Thank you for your interest in our department. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence and innovation in radiology.
