Ben McElvany, a senior research technician in MMG, was the recipient of the Scientific Research Staff award during the 2026 Dean’s Excellence in Research Ceremony held October 1st. Ben has worked since 2012 with the Vaccine Testing Center and since 2016 in the Diehl lab and has 18 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, Journal Infectious Diseases, and Journal of Virology, one patent, and has mentored and trained dozens of students. Ben has been an integral part of NIH-funded research on a vaccine against dengue fever. Congratulations Ben!
