Dr. Delaney is an Associate Professor at the Larner College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and teaches in the Public Health Program. Dr. Delaney has developed and taught several courses on research methods and statistical analysis that are part of the Master of Public Health (MPH) and Public Health Certificate core curriculum. He also co-teaches the MPH Culminating Project Experience course.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Delaney has a very active and successful research portfolio. His research assesses the effectiveness of programs aimed at improving mental health and substance abuse treatment services. Much of this program evaluation work focuses on mental health promotion and suicide prevention in children, youth, and young adults.
