Dr. Kennedy is a Professor of Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from Northeastern University, pharmacy residency from the University of Vermont Medical Center, health services research fellowship from the Larner College of Medicine, and an executive fellowship in patient safety from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has studied medication safety and the integration of pharmacists into primary care, with funding from state and federal sources. Dr. Kennedy formerly served as Director of the Vermont Academic Detailing Program, a continuing medical and interprofessional education program, at the University of Vermont Office of Primary Care for over 20 years. She also served as the Director of Clinical and Translational Science at the Larner College of Medicine. Dr. Kennedy holds the rank of Distinguished Educator within the Larner College of Medicine Teaching Academy. In addition to teaching within the Public Health program, Dr. Kennedy serves as the Quality Scholar for the Department of Medicine, mentoring and coaching graduate students, residents, fellows, and faculty in completing health services research and quality improvement projects. She also maintains a part-time practice at the University of Vermont Medical Center Department of Pharmacy.
