BIO
Karen George, MD, MPH is the Associate Dean for Students at the Larner College of Medicine and an Associate Professor in obstetrics and gynecology. She has served many roles in medical education including as clerkship director and residency program director. She also served as a senior fellow in women’s health policy at the Institute for Medicaid Innovation. She is the immediate past chair of the Council of Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a former oral board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her BS degree from Bates College, her MD at the Ohio State University, and her MPH at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of New Mexico. She is passionate about reducing disparities in maternal and infant outcomes through policy, education, and delivery of safe, high quality care.
