Larner College of Medicine

International Emergency Medicine

Addressing global health challenges and strengthening emergency health systems worldwide are crucial goals. Our International Emergency Medicine Program supports this by cultivating socially responsible, globally minded students who integrate a public health perspective into their clinical care.

The Department of Emergency Medicine concentrates on four key global health areas: electives, sustainable partnerships, advocacy, and research. Our faculty have expertise in Central America, South America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Through established global partnerships, mentorship and field experiences are available in other regions. Additional opportunities include collaborations with major international health policy and advocacy organizations.
