Dr. William Timbers is an emergency medicine physician and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Vermont. He is clinically active and engaged in the education of residents and medical students, with a focus on simulation-based training, didactic instruction, and mentorship. He serves as faculty for the wilderness medicine fellowship and co-instructs a wilderness medicine elective for medical students. His academic interests center on emergency care, medical education, and sepsis and critical illness. Dr. Timbers completed his medical degree at the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine and his emergency medicine residency in the Harvard-affiliated system. Prior to returning to Vermont, he practiced emergency medicine in California and held medical staff leadership roles, including service as a hospital district's Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Officer.
