BIO
Jonathan Flyer is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont. He is the Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and practices general and fetal cardiology. His work centers on improving pediatric cardiovascular health, from fetus to young adult. His clinical research focuses childhood aortopathy development, studying aortic growth, and methods to mitigate aortic aneurysm formation. He holds leadership roles within the New England Congenital Cardiology Research Foundation, New England Congenital Cardiology Association, and then American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Research Committee. His teaching emphasizes compassionate and professional care for children and families living with pediatric cardiovascular disease. He was named an Expert Teacher by the UVM Teaching Academy for direct teaching and academic mentorship and serves as Faculty Advisory to the UVM Gold Humanism Honor Society.
