BIO
Clare O'Grady, DO MPH is the associate program director of the UVMH Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship, an assistant professor of palliative medicine at UVM's Larner College of Medicine, and the site leader for palliative medicine at one of UVMH's rural critical access hospitals and associated nursing homes (Porter Medical Center/Helen Porter Nursing Facility). Her clinical and research interests center on advancing equitable access to palliative care in rural communities through community-based partnerships. Clare was drawn to palliative medicine by the privilege of hearing and advocating on behalf of patients’ stories; she shares her deep passion for this field as an educator, training pre-medical and medical students, residents, and fellows. Outside of hospital, she enjoys running, hiking, skiing, and climbing in the rural landscapes that raised, surround, and inspire her.
