Tobacco Study on Cigarettes and E-Cigarettes

Body

The Vermont Center on Behavior and Health (VCBH) at the University of Vermont (UVM) is conducting a study to help scientists understand tobacco use among adults who use cigarette and e-cigarette.

This study is for adults (aged 21 or older) who:

  1. Smoke cigarettes and use e-cigarettes
  2. Are not interested in quitting right now, and
  3. Willing to visit our clinic.

This study involves weekly sessions and exchanges of study product. Flexible scheduling and compensation up to $1,976 is offered.

Eligibility Survey

Accelerated Pulmonary Rehabilitation in the Preoperative Period (PREHAB)

Body

The Vermont Lung Center (VLC) at the University of Vermont (UVM) is conducting a study to help scientists understand how to treat patients with lung cancer who smoke.

This study is for adults (aged 18 or older) who:

  1. Smoke cigarettes 
  2. Have been diagnosed with lung cancer
  3. Are early in their treatment 

This study lasts two weeks. Flexible scheduling and compensation, including travel, is offered.

PTSD Treatment Study

Body

We are recruiting people who have experienced trauma and are maintained on buprenorphine or methadone for treatment of opioid use disorder. 

This University of Vermont (UVM) research study is investigating the efficacy of 12 weeks of telemedicine-delivered Prolonged Exposure therapy for the treatment of PTSD in people with opioid use disorder. 

Compensation is provided for participation.

Participation may include:

  • Initial intake visit conducted via telemedicine that will take about 4 hours
  • 12, weekly, 60-minute telemedicine-delivered therapy sessions
  • Nightly questionnaires via telephone or online survey for the first 12 weeks of the study 
  • Five scheduled follow-up assessments conducted via telemedicine
  • Compensation up to $888 - $1808 for the completion of the study
