This service is approved for use in restricting access to Low, Moderate, and High Risk Data, as defined by the Information Security Office.
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows your computer to make a private encrypted connection over the Internet to another private network. UVM's VPN enables remote users to securely access UVM resources as though they were on campus.
- When using VPN, your computer is dynamically assigned a UVM network IP address.
- Having a UVM IP address allows you to connect to secure UVM resources (such as the shared drive) as if you were on campus, making remote connections possible.
