UVM’s compensation philosophy is intended to support and advance the institution’s mission, goals, and values, and the university’s commitment to provide an exceptional educational experience to our students at a reasonable cost. Although the university continues to face serious budgetary challenges and revenue shortfalls even in the face of potential increases in the number of new incoming undergraduate students, we are pleased to offer a 1% across-the-board FY22 base salary increase that will go into effect on July 1, 2021 for all regular non-represented employees except for staff who occupy positions that are part of the organizing petitions recently filed by AFT-Vermont. The university is prohibited from effecting changes to terms and conditions of employment, including salaries and wages, while an organizing petition is pending. For more information about the union organizing effort and the upcoming elections, please visit https://www.uvm.edu/hrs/informed-choice-union-organizing. Employees who are part of bargaining units will have their salaries determined in accordance with their respective collective bargaining agreements. Details regarding implementation of the salary increase will be distributed shortly.
