Celebrating its fiftieth anniversary in 2027, the UVM Historic Preservation Program regards historic preservation as means to acknowledge, conserve, and sustain a diverse range of heritage resources that inform and serve current and future generations.

The Historic Preservation Program offers a Master of Science degree in Historic Preservation, as well as an  Accelerated Masters Program, individually designed minors , and courses for upper-level undergraduate students and through UVM Professional and Continuing Education (PACE). 

Full-time graduate students can complete their degree in 16 months, with three semesters of coursework and a summer internship. Part-time enrollment is also available. Reduced tuition rates are available for both Vermont residents and non-residents. Current tuition rates

The National Council for Preservation Education has peer-reviewed the University of Vermont's Historic Preservation Program and certified it as meeting their historic preservation degree-granting program standards.
