BIO
Apollo Covington (he/him) is a CAPS intern located at the Redstone campus. He received his BA in applied psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago and is currently pursuing his doctorate in clinical psychology at Antioch University New England.
By blending relational, cultural, somatic and play based theories, he hopes to help every person cultivate compassion, joy, and trust in themselves as well as their community around them. Apollo's previous work in community mental health and as a school counselor informs his dedication to supporting the whole person and being sensitive to the many factors such as family, religion, and marginalized identities that influences how people show up in the world. His areas of interest include healing from trauma, dream analysis, grief and loss, and centering the stories of BIPOC folks.
Outside of work and school, Apollo will likely be found painting outside, increasing his collection of indoor plants, or stargazing.
