To help ensure excellence is inclusive of everyone in the UVM community – faculty, staff, students, and alumni – the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion serves in a senior administrative position reporting to both the President and Provost. The Vice President serves as an advocate, advisor, and cultural architect coordinating diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the University.
The current Vice President is Dr. Wanda Heading-Grant ’87 & G’03. Dr. Heading-Grant has served UVM for more than 30-years in a variety of roles and holds a faculty appointment in the College of Education and Social Services as a member of the Department of Social Works and is a member of the graduate faculty. Dr. Heading-Grant’s charge is to prioritize inclusive excellence at UVM with a focus on outcomes for students, faculty, staff and campus climate.
