Director of Admissions

Moses Murphy was named the University of Vermont’s Director of Undergraduate Admissions in May, 2021. In this role Moses leads a staff of 40 admissions professionals who are responsible for the outreach, recruitment, admission and enrollment of undergraduate first-year, transfer and international students.

Moses has worked in Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Vermont for 19 years. He has held various roles throughout the office, including in Events, Recruitment and as an integral part of the Slate (CRM) implementation team in 2017. Moses has a history of being forward-thinking and strategic while collaborating with campus constituents to achieve enrollment goals of the University.


Moses is a member of the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NECAC), the College Board New England Regional Council, the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and ACAOPU (the Association of Chief Admission Officers of Public Universities). He earned a Bachelor’s Degree From Johnson State College in 2000.

Areas of Expertise and/or Research

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the outreach, recruitment, admission and enrollment of undergraduate first-year, transfer and international students. The admissions office consists of forty staff and supports prospective students and parents by focusing on areas such as campus visits and events, territory management and admissions counseling, operations, data management, application review, technology, diversity and international admissions, alumni admissions, and marketing and communications.
