Heather Pena is the Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Vermont, where she oversees the CARE Team and the Center for Student Conduct. With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, she is passionate about helping students navigate challenges, connect with resources, and thrive throughout their college experience. Heather is certified in several NaBITA behavioral intervention and threat assessment frameworks, as well as PROSCI Change Management. Guided by a leadership philosophy rooted in empathy, collaboration, and authentic relationships, Heather is committed to creating inclusive environments where all students feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed. She is also a proud first-gen college graduate.
