Learning Beyond the Classroom
Travel Study
The Exercise Science program offers a faculty-led travel study experience in Greece that explores physical activity, health, culture, and wellness through a global lens. Students engage with different approaches to health and movement while gaining valuable cross-cultural perspectives that enrich their academic and professional development.
Unified Fitness
Led by faculty member Nancy Gell, Unified Fitness is an inclusive exercise program that provides fitness opportunities for young adults with intellectual disabilities. Through participation, EXSC students gain practical experience working with diverse populations while helping participants build confidence, fitness, and social connections.
Telehealth Fitness for 9/11 First Responders
Students also contribute to research, including a telehealth fitness initiative that supports 9/11 first responders. These experiences allow students to apply exercise science principles in meaningful ways while serving populations with unique health needs.
Exercise Science Club
The UVM Exercise Science Club is a student-run organization open to all undergraduate students interested in health, fitness, exercise science, and human performance. The club provides opportunities to:
- Connect with fellow students who share similar interests
