Early Admission Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program

Get a head start on your career and save time and money with early admission to our clinical doctoral program. Apply in your junior year to transition seamlessly into advanced studies after completing your undergraduate degree at UVM.

Approved applicants can secure their place in our graduate program by submitting a deposit. Plus, you'll have the chance to shadow a practicing occupational therapist during your senior year. (We recommend you do this shadowing before the November 15th deposit due date.)

Requirements for Admission

  • Junior-year UVM undergraduate students may apply.
  • GRE scores are not required.
  • Must have a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.2 prerequisite GPA.  GPA must be upheld through senior year.
  • Completion of prerequisite courses at the end of senior year.
    • General Psychology (one semester/3 credits)
    • Abnormal Psychology (one semester/3 credits)
    • Human Development (one semester/3 credits)
    • Statistics (one semester/3 credits)
    • Biology (one semester/3 credits)
    • Human Anatomy with lab (one semester/4 credits)
    • Human Physiology with lab (one semester/4 credits)
    • Social Sciences (Anthropology, Humanities, Philosophy, Sociology; 2 semesters/6 credits)
    • Medical Terminology (If taken online, a certificate of completion must be sent to the UVM Graduate College Admissions office.)

Admissions Timeline

  • April 25: ​Applications due
  • Early June: Admissions decisions released
  • October 1: Graduate application due
  • November 15: Acceptance deposit due

  • 2 faculty letters of recommendation
  • 1 professional letter of recommendation
  • Your academic transcript
