Physical Therapy alumnae Joanne Ferrara('78) was recently in Burlington to meet with physical therapy students, faculty and members of the community to discuss her New York City ballet program, "Dancing Dreams-Ballet for Every Child". The program helps to make the dream of performing ballet a reality for children with physical challenges.
The program focuses on establishing an environment where children with physical disabilities can participate in the art of dance through therapeutic movement within their own capabilities. Ferrara, a physical therapist and author of a new book, "Ballerina Dreams", has been featured in The New York Times, Ladies' Home Journal and People.
