During the 2012-13 winter break, College of Nursing and Health Sciences students are invited to participate in a faculty-led trip to Bali called "Consciousness, Culture and Community in Bali Indonesia." An information session about the trip will be held April 23 at 5:30p.m. in Rowell 104.
The three credit course is led by Prof. David Osgood and his wife, Carla. Goals of the course include developing "intercultural communication skills including cultural awareness, cultural adaptation, cultural empathy and non-evaluative listening." Students will meet a Balinese master healer and work with Prof. Luh Ketut Suryani, a Balinese psychiatrist, healer, and activist, among many other activities.
