Elizabeth Adams, Au.D. has been selected by the University of Vermont to attend the Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Institute, a nationally recognized leadership program for woman-identified leaders in higher education.
A clinical professor and audiologist, Dr. Adams teaches undergraduate clinical coursework in communication sciences and disorders and audiology and coordinates the University's graduate audiology practicum. Her clinical specialties include auditory assessment, tinnitus management, treatment of hyperacusis, decreased sound tolerance, and hearing loss; and hearing aid fittings.
Dr. Adams is a member of the University of Vermont Center on Aging’s Faculty Advisory Committee and Chair of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Curriculum Planning Committee. She serves as an advisor to the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser Board, and previously served on the Vermont Speech, Language, and Hearing Association Executive Board. She earned her doctoral degree in Audiology from A.T. Still University and maintains a clinical practice in the Eleanor M. Luse Center for Communication.
She is a past nominee for the Kroepsch-Maurice Excellence in Teaching Award and has received the Sally J. Perry Memorial Award for Service by the Vermont Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
About the Higher Education Resource Services Institute
The Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Institute is a nationally recognized leadership program which helps develop and support woman identified leaders at higher ed institutions. UVM has been involved with HERS for over 20 years through its support of an annual scholarship fund. Recipients are selected each year through a competitive application process which is organized and coordinated by the Women and Gender Equity Center, the Professional Development and Training Office, and a volunteer committee of recent HERS alumni from UVM.
