Welcome to CNHS!
We're your first-year advising team (also known as the Office of Student Services, or OSS) and the go-to place for guidance on just about any topic related to your first year of college life. To start, we've included a checklist to help you prepare for your move to campus in August.
Your CNHS Advising Team:
Erica Caloiero Erica directs the Office of Student Services and teaches NH 50: Applications to Health. Erica earned degrees in psychology and counseling from Wagner College and Lehigh University, respectively.
Kari Hodge Kari advises first-year students and organizes the Links program. She earned her B.S. in animal science from the University of New Hampshire and an M.A. in education from UVM.
Vanessa Santos Eugenio Vanessa advises first-year students and coordinates the first-year advising program. Vanessa did her undergraduate work in education and human development and earned an M.Ed. at UVM.
Sara Buscher Sara advises first-year students and manages communications for the College. She holds a B.A. in English from Penn State University and a master's degree in writing from Goddard College.
Kristen Cella Kristen manages the graduate and transfer application and admissions processes for the College. Kristen earned a B.S. in international business from Franklin Pierce College.
Your CNHS Pre-term Checklist:
- Transfer AP credit. Review your transcript in myUVM to ensure credit earned in AP courses has been transferred. If credit you expected to receive has not been transferred, request that your score reports or college transcripts be sent to the Transfer Affairs office.
- Check your schedule. Review your fall course schedule online. Extra seats open up in many courses (ZRA sections) on August 3rd.
- Configure your email. Learn how to forward your UVM email to your primary account so you don't miss a message! Also be sure you know how to access your email from your Android or iPhone/iPad/iTouch. You'll receive vital UVM communications and the weekly College of Nursing and Health Sciences email newsletter, which contains important announcements, opportunities, and cool health-related events.
- Order textbooks. Required textbooks for fall classes are listed here. The estimated cost of new books is $600 per semester. To save money, you can buy used textbooks or rent them online. (Remember used or rented books may not include supplemental materials, so ask before buying.)
- Contact ACCESS for accommodations. If you need accommodations for a disability or health-related concern, connect with ACCESS now.
- If you signed up for a Link. . . expect to hear from him/her in mid-August.
- Get ready to meet your advisor! We'll be here on move-in day – along with the Links – in case you need an extra hand!
