Melissa Ochoa provides general advice and guidance to a variety of stakeholders, including students, staff, and faculty in the College of Education and Social Services (CESS). She serves as an academic advisor for first-year students in Art Education, Music Education, and for those who enter CESS as undeclared. In addition to advising, she coordinates front office operations, manages student success reporting and metrics, oversees record-keeping, and supports events.
Before joining the Office of Student Services, she earned her master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at the University of Vermont (UVM) while managing the Excellence in STEM (eSTEM) program in the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences
Prior to joining the UVM community, Melissa earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). While at CSUF, she was a dedicated Ronald E. McNair Scholar, researcher, and peer mentor.
