BEST/VTmtss Summer Institute Moving Online!

The BEST/VTmtss Summer Institute provides opportunities for school teams of educators, family members, and community stakeholders to share and learn strategies for improving and strengthening the systems, data, and practices within Vermont’s expanded framework for enacting a multi-tiered system of supports (VTmtss). Learn about new programs, curricula, practices, and activities that emphasize positive, research-based strategies to support all students. Individual or team-attended strands and workshops are intentionally designed to complement afternoon school team planning sessions for building effective action plans.

In the wake of COVID-19, the Vermont BEST/VTmtss Summer Institute will not be taking place in its usual format on June 22-25 at Killington Grand Hotel. However, we have developed the first ever online BEST/VTmtss Summer Institute to take place the same week and have lots of choices for virtual offerings.

  • If you and your team members have already registered for the live event at Killington, these registrations have been automatically cancelled on our end.
  • The new virtual Institute will provide approximately 18 direct contact hours (compared to 32 hours when face-to-face). The registration fee will be $275 per person.
  • The BEST/VTmtss Summer Institute will still only be accepting registrations for individuals participating as part of school or SU/SD teams.
  • Live online keynotes, strands, and workshops will be held during the week of June 22-25th. Team time will be expected to happen during this week as well. Resource Consultants will be checking in with your teams each day to provide support and answer any questions.

When anticipating a live event at Killington, the BEST/VTmtss Summer Institute theme was – To Infinity and Beyond: Aligning Systems so All Students and Adults Thrive

With the Summer Institute now moving to the new online format, the new theme will now be – Staying Grounded: Aligning Systems so All Students and Adults Thrive (Wherever They Are!)
