Computer Science alumni and students at UVM are thriving. We caught up with a few of them recently. Read on!
Delaney Sullivan
I graduated from UVM in 2021 with my Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science.
While at UVM I was a teaching assistant for multiple courses in the computer science department, served on the College Panhellenic Association as Vice President of Membership and Recruitment, and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
I just started my Master’s in Software Development at Boston University with the hope to teach college students new to the computer science field like I was when I began at UVM in 2017. My time as a teaching assistant really sparked a passion for sharing knowledge and teaching others.
I currently work as a Software Engineer for Raytheon Technologies on an agile development team. I also interned for Raytheon Summers 2019 and 2020.
I live in Boston and spend my free time enjoying all it has to offer, especially the spin classes!

After graduating UVM with my Bachelors in Computer Science I moved to Denver Colorado where I am now a Software Developer for Raytheon Intelligence and Space.
While at UVM I had the opportunity to be a Flight Software Developer Intern with NASA at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD where I wrote an update script that was requested by the roman space telescope and worked on other flight software apps.
I was also a Researcher with the Art & AI research group with Jenn Karson where I mostly worked with genetic algorithms and a T.A. for many CS classes including Python, Java, C++, Data Structures & Algorithms, Adv. Programming, and Operating Systems.
During my time at UVM I received the Outstanding Sophomore Academic Achievement Award and the Association for Computing and Machinery award.
When I wasn't studying, my friends and I were either skiing or playing pond hockey in the winter and biking to the beach to swim in the summer.
I absolutely loved intramural sports participating in a basketball, soccer, volleyball, trenchball, (and my favorite) 3v3 ice hockey team.
I loved the CS department's community, especially my professors and co TAs. We not only worked incredibly well together but had a lot of fun learning with each other, talking tech, and making jokes about programming languages.
For now my plan is to continue to settle into my position at RIS and explore all Denver and Colorado have to offer be that hiking, skiing, hotsprings, nuggets games, and hopefully much more.
LeAnn Gove
I graduated from UVM in 2019 with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. Currently, I work as a software engineer at Google in NYC.
At UVM, I participated in the dance group UVM Jazbaa as well as the Society of Women in CS (SWiCS).
One of the most valuable experiences for me at UVM was attending the Grace Hopper Conference. At the career fair, I was offered an internship at American Express, which I took and then was extended to a full-time offer after graduating.
I worked at American Express as a software engineer for a couple years before switching to Google in May 2022.
I live in Queens, NY which I think has some of the best food in the country!
I have two cats and I love to bake bread and desserts in my free time.
Vincent Moeykens
I graduated UVM with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Pure Mathematics in 2022.
While at UVM I was a TA for a variety of CS classes including Computer Organization for James Eddy, and then Computer Architecture and Algorithm Design and Analysis for Jason Hibbeler.
Also while at UVM I volunteered on UVM Rescue for 4 years as a Crew Chief and Driver. I additionally worked for 3 years as UVM Rescue's Financial Officer, and as the SGA Club Signer for the organization.
I received my Advanced EMT License and taught as a student instructor for the Initiative for Rural EMS at UVM.
After my freshman year, I began interning at Beta Technologies and was one of the first 40 employees.
I continued to intern at Beta part time during the school year and full time during breaks until receiving a full-time offer in December of 2021.
At Beta I am able to utilize my private pilot's license and fly various airplanes and helicopters. I work as a simulator and telemetry software engineer.
Beta is the perfect job for me as I get to combine my passion for aviation, and my interest in technology, as well as an appreciation for sustainability that I received while at UVM.

I am a junior majoring in Computer Science & Information Systems, minoring in Statistics, in the Honors College.
I spent the first year of college at home due to the pandemic and when I first had an on-campus experience sophomore year, I wanted to get involved with SWiCS, which had been dormant for a couple of years. I met with the president, got appointed vice president, and decided to start making some changes so that we could work to break down sexism in the field of computer science. I am currently spearheading fundraising for a scholarship that I created with SWiCS for women and non-binary students in computer science (go.uvm.edu/swics).
I love creating community for women and femmes in computer science, with weekly meetings and occasionally group dinners with the WAGE Center. I also love talking to local high school students about diversity in computer science. As the Vice President, I run the social media and advertise our meetings, connect with speakers who could give interesting talks to our members, and make decisions about the direction of the club
I won the Women and Gender Equity (WAGE) Center Mariafranca Morselli Leadership Award, UVM Computer Science Sophomore Award, and UVM's Outstanding Sophomore Award, all in 2021-2022 school year.
I work with Girls Who Code every weekend during the semester to introduce young girls to computer science in a way that doesn't center traditionally masculine applications.
Ivoline Ngong
I am a 2nd-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Vermont advised by Joe Near.
In the past, I have worked as a consultant for deeplearning.ai, earned my master's degree in Turkey, and obtained my bachelor's degree in Cameroon (my home country) in Computer Engineering.
My research interests broadly revolve around all aspects of machine learning; theory, algorithms, and applications.
My current research focuses on privacy-preserving data analysis and machine learning, including differential privacy, federated learning, and secure multiparty computation.
It was a pleasure to be selected as one of four recipients of the Microsoft Reinforcement Learning Open Source Fest awards this summer, where I worked on compiler optimization for reinforcement learning.
I have previously published in fairness and privacy workshops at NeuRIPS, contributed to open source at Microsoft Research, and currently, contribute to OpenMined as a research scientist.
In my spare time, I can usually be found in the kitchen whipping up a savory meal or getting lost in the plot of a good book.
