BIO

Dr. Raquel A. Lima-Cordón is a biologist whose work bridges molecular biology, vector ecology, and public health. Originally from Guatemala, she earned her Licenciatura in Biology from the Universidad de San Carlos and later completed her Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Vermont, where she studied the ecology and evolution of Chagas disease in Central America. She then joined the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health as a Postdoctoral Fellow, developing high-throughput sequencing assays for mosquito vector surveillance in South America. Now a Lecturer in the Biology Department at UVM, Dr. Lima-Cordón is committed to both teaching and mentoring, with expertise in General Biology, Population Genetics, Evolution, and Ecology.
