Research in the Vigoreaux lab has focused on five areas of muscle biology:
- Identification and functional characterization of novel muscle proteins. Early work involved the discovery, identification and characterization of novel proteins of muscle, principally projectin (the invertebrate titin homolog) and the myosin binding protein flightin. These studies laid the groundwork for subsequent detailed analyses of the protein’s contributions to the passive and active properties of muscle.
