BIO

Danielle Meyer, MS, RDN, CDN serves as Program Director of the M.S. in Nutrition Science and Coordinated Program in Dietetics at the University of Vermont. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with experience spanning clinical practice, dietetics education, and program leadership.

After years of working with patients across oncology, clinical care and management, bariatric, and community settings, Danielle became increasingly interested in preparing the next generation of dietitians and advancing innovative approaches to nutrition education. This passion led her to pursue leadership roles in dietetics education, where she has worked closely with students, faculty, and preceptors to strengthen experiential learning opportunities and support program quality and accreditation efforts.

Danielle is passionate about preparing future dietitians to meet the evolving needs of patients, communities, and healthcare systems. She is committed to advancing the dietetics profession by developing practice-ready graduates, fostering leadership and professional growth, and promoting innovation in nutrition education and healthcare delivery. Her professional interests include competency-based education, supervised experiential learning, simulation and skills-based training, workforce development, and the integration of emerging technologies into nutrition education and practice. 

Her teaching philosophy emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, and creating supportive learning environments that help students develop confidence, clinical judgment, and professional identity. As both an educator and clinician, Danielle values connecting classroom learning to real-world practice and mentoring students as they develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to become successful Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and future leaders in the field.
