"Every year, CUPS recognizes outstanding faculty, students, and community partners for their work in creating rigorous and reciprocal community-engaged learning opportunities for students that benefit communities in Vermont and beyond."
This year Dr. Farryl received the UVM CUPS Outstanding New Service-Learning Faculty Award for her community partner work with Kenya. Her community partner, GoGlobal VT was also honored.
Dr. Farryl and CDAE Chair Jane Kolodinsky co-teach a winter session travel course in Kenya, CDAE/NFS 295: Sustainable Development & Education: Kenya. In the course students develop projects, learn about Kenyan culture and prepare to work in the field in two communities in Kenya.
