Educational Programs: Internship and Apprenticeship

For over four decades, aspiring horse people have honed their experience and skills working at this one-of-a-kind equine institution.

The Morgan Horse Farm has been supported by Apprentices since the early 1970s, and now proudly offers equine science internships through the University of Vermont.

In addition, the Morgan Horse Farm works with multiple UVM departments including Animal and Veterinary Science to provide on-farm learning opportunities in Weybridge.

Multiple UVM classes visit each semester.  A presentation (PDF) created by a student in Dr. Jenny Wilkinson's Equine Clinical Topics course.

Apprenticeship

Well over 200 apprentices have completed the UVM Morgan Horse Farm apprenticeship program since its conception in the early 1970’s. Motivated participants utilize their experience to build a foundation for a career in the equine industry. The apprenticeship is one year long spent living on farm.
