Faculty members should include the following statement in the course syllabus and ensure students are aware of it as they review the syllabus. This proactive approach demonstrates the faculty member’s willingness to support students with disabilities who may need accommodations:
"In keeping with University policy, any student with a documented disability interested in using ADA accommodations should contact Student Accessibility Services (SAS), the office of disability services on campus for students. SAS works with students and faculty in an interactive process to explore reasonable accommodations, which are communicated to faculty in an accommodation letter. All students should discuss with their faculty the accommodations they plan to use in each course."
Faculty who receive Letters of Accommodation with Disability-Related Flexible accommodations will only need to complete the Disability-Related Flexibility Agreement when prompted by an SAS specialist.
