We believe tutoring is a vitamin, not a medicine. Tutoring services are most effective when students begin using them early in the semester and consistently attend appointments. We encourage students to utilize this resource to connect with peers, ask questions, build in review times.

Subject Area Tutoring

Body

Students work collaboratively with a peer tutor in a one-on-one or small group tutoring setting on specific course content. Peer tutors facilitate student learning through reviewing course concepts and materials but cannot assist on graded assignments.

Peer Academic Coaching

Body

Students work one-on-one with a peer academic coach to strengthen core skills, such as, reviewing syllabi, mapping the semester, enhancing time management strategies, improving note-taking, and refining study strategies. Peer Coaches also help build success skills by guiding effective use of office hours, navigating academic expectations, and creating accountability systems.

Schedule an Appointment 

By using the Tutoring Center and its affiliated services and programs, students agree to abide by tutoring center policies to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment for everyone involved.

To book a tutoring appointment, please download the Navigate App or visit the web-based version.

How to Book a Tutoring Appointment

Booking a Tutoring Appointment on a Computer

Body

  1. Go to Navigate Student (uvm.guide.eab.com) in your browser and log in using your UVM NetID and password. 

  2. On your homepage, navigate to the left-hand toolbar and click Appointments. 

  3. Select Schedule an Appointment in the upper-right corner of the page. 

  4. For the appointment type, select Tutoring. 

  5. In the Service dropdown menu, choose either Peer Academic Coaching or Subject Area Tutoring*. 

  6. If desired, you can use the Specific Tutor, Meeting Type, and Course filters to narrow your search. 

  7. Available appointments will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. To book a session, select a 45-minute tutoring appointment that fits your schedule. 

  8. Review the appointment details, then add a few notes about what you would like to work on with your tutor.

Booking a Tutoring Appointment using the Mobile App

  1. Download the Navigate Student app. 

    1. iOS App: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/navigate-student/id950433229 

    2. Android App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eab.se&hl=en&pli=1  

  2. Open the app and sign in using your UVM NetID and password. 

  3. Tap the Appointments icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. 

  4. Tap Schedule an Appointment at the bottom of the screen. 

  5. For the appointment type, select Tutoring. 

  6. In the Service dropdown menu, choose either Peer Academic Coaching or Subject Area Tutoring*. 

  7. Then, click “Find Available Time”. 

  8. If desired, you can use the Specific Tutor, Meeting Type, and Course filters to narrow your search. 

  9. Available appointments will appear on the screen. To book a session, select a 45-minute tutoring appointment that fits your schedule. 

  10. Review the appointment details, then add a few notes about what you would like to work on with your tutor.
