The Grossman Entrepreneurs program allows students to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to building and launching your own start up.  The program provides you with support tailored to your startup’s needs, including a dedicated mentor(s), opportunities to attend workshops and presentations, a stipend to provide financial support as you launch your business, and more.

Program Timeline

  • September 4th – Applications available
  • October 13th – Applications due
  • October 27th – Applicants Pitch to Committee
  • November 10th – Students notified of Decision
  • December 4th – Program orientation and mentor match
  • Spring 2018 – Enroll in BSAD 094
    • Course details COMING SOON
  • Summer 2018 – launch venture
  • September 2018 – present venture progress

Student Requirements

  • Idea for a business venture
  • Currently enrolled Grossman School of Business student
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Junior or Senior standing at the beginning of Fall 2017 semester
  • Must enroll in BSAD 094 during spring 2018 semester for 3 credits

Mentors

Mentors are established, successful entrepreneurs and innovators who are interested in helping to develop the next generation of Grossman Entrepreneurs.  Mentors and students are matched based on the alignment of the mentor’s background with the student venture.  Students and mentors will meet regularly throughout the spring to help the students prepare to launch their venture and will continue meeting throughout the summer.

Mentor Expectations

  • Meet with mentee for a minimum of one hour a month either in person, via phone, or video chat
  • Respond in a timely manner to reasonable student inquiries and communication
  • Share expertise, insights, and advice in starting a new venture
