Section Description

In this course we study the principles of macroeconomics, which is the study of the economy as a whole. The first key unit is on the measurement and causes of economic growth. We then study the banking and financial system, followed by inflation and unemployment. Lastly we study the how governmental monetary and fiscal policy affect the macroeconomy.

Section Expectation

This course combines recorded lecture and discussion board formats. Students should expect to spend 10-12 hours a week on coursework. There will be a required textbook.

Evaluation

Grades are based upon homework assignments, discussion board assignments, a midterm exam and a final exam. All work will be completed online. We will use a software package that accompanies the e-textbook for homework assignments and exams.
