The Women’s Center was first established as a center in 1991 and gained formal UVM recognition in 1997. In the last 28 years, the work has shifted, grown, and evolved. “The Women’s Center” no longer feels like an expansive enough name to reflect our current work. Due to this we have carried out an extensive renaming process.  This included giving the UVM community an opportunity to vote on our new name.Thank you for supporting our work by voting for the new center name!

New Name Unveiling

We are thrilled to share the center will now be known as the University of Vermont: Women & Gender Equity Center!
