From service-learning classes and internships to volunteer clubs and local community organizations - UVM's Civic Engagement Programs (CE) aims to grow a culture of involvement, leadership, and learning through hands-on civic engagement that creates friendships and skills that last well beyond your UVM career.

WHEN IN DOUBT, HELP OUT.
Last year UVM student service organizations clocked over 144,000 hours of service work. From Volunteers in Action to CELO and everything in between - there's no shortage of way to sport your commitment to service at UVM.

LEAD THE WAY
Make the most out of your UVM experience by refining your leadership skills. Serve as a club executive, lead a trip, be a student government representative, and more. Our campus is full of opportunities that can help you lead the way while working with other students in exciting, experiential, and sometimes non-traditional ways.

GET TO KNOW SERVICE TREK
TREK Offers brand-new incoming students a chance to participate in an experiential learning opportunity while making connections with future classmates on a 5-day Vermont service adventure that takes place just prior to the start of the fall semester.

ADVENTURE ON ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK
A student-run organization, ASB coordinates volunteer trips that engage in service work across the country every Spring Break. Lead the way by helping build (and rebuild) communities, expand your social network, and learn about a number of social issues facing the world today while exploring the US.

SOCIAL JUSTICE GROUNDING RETREAT: BUILDING ROOTS IN COMPASSION, EQUITY, AND JUSTICE
For over 15 years, UVM students have been learning about identity and justice as part of our annual 3-day social justice retreat. Learn how you can become a more socially conscious community member and change agent against systems of oppression by exploring your own identities and building community with other justice-oriented peers.
