How do we best assess the varied conservation concerns and needs of all Vermonters when attempting to achieve 30x30 and 50x50 conservation goals?

VPI’s first project dives into the recent passing of Vermont’s Act 59, a conservation statute aimed at conserving 30% of Vermont’s land by 2030 and 50% by 2050. For any conservation initiative to be effective, the public must agree and be interested in the effort. Our research provides an overview of methods for understanding how the public rates conservation initiatives and its importance to them. The analysis ends with a suggestion of which method would be most advantageous for measuring interest in conservation across the state of Vermont.
