BIO
MAJ Mike Arcovitch is from Essex Junction, Vermont. He attended the Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 2006 with a degree in Marketing. He returned to Vermont, and in 2007 received his teaching certification through the Teacher’s Apprenticeship Program. MAJ Arcovitch was hired by Burlington High School to teach business where he also coached football, strength and conditioning, and was the head lacrosse coach. While teaching, Arcovitch enlisted in the Vermont National Guard in 2012 and received his commission through the Officer Candidate School in 2014. His first assignment was battalion administrative officer for 1st Squadron, 172nd Cavalry. It was during this time that Arcovitch left teaching after nine years and was hired full-time as the Deputy Officer Strength Manager. Arcovitch was then hired in 2017 as the State Public Affairs Officer for the Vermont National Guard where he served until moving to UVM ROTC in October of 2024.
His other assignments include Public Affairs Officer, Joint Forces Headquarters; Public Affairs Officer, 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (MTN); Commander, 172nd Public Affairs Detachment; and Senior Instructor, Information Operations Battalion.
While in command of the 172nd PAD, Arcovitch deployed to Kosovo as part of KFOR 29, Operation Joint Guardian. Arcovitch earned his master’s degree in athletic administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021 while in Kosovo.
Arcovitch’s military education include Basic Officer Leaders Course, Captain’s Career Course, Public Affairs Qualification Course (FA46), Information Operations Course (FA30), and Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course.
