Title  /  Areas of Expertise

Cohort 5

Evolutionary Biology, Pest Insect Evolution, Stress-Induced Evolutionary Processes, Insect Stress Biology, Rapid Evolution, Alpine and Arctic/Antarctic Arthropods, Insecticide Resistance, Epigenetics. I am generally interested in the molecular processes and evolution of arthropods living under stressful conditions.

Cohort 5

I am interested in the use of acoustics to investigate the ecology and the behavior of marine mammals.

Cohort 5

I am interested in understanding how the environment affects organismal physiology and ecological distribution, specifically temperature's effect on marine organism function and interaction between different species. I hope to evaluate the response of Mytilus mussels multiple stressors.

Cohort 5

My research focuses on climate-mediated local adaptation in non-model organisms. I'm particularly interested in non-coding loci and how changes in gene regulation may manifest in transcriptomic differences that result in different selectable phenotypes. I like to study species that have undergone recent range expansions or ecosystem invasions to give my work a community ecology and conservation lens.

I am interested in dissecting the growth and stress resiliency relationship in the wild grass crop relative, Brachypodium distachyon, to determine how trait correlations might affect plant responses to climate change.
